In the 9/10th-century works of Zoroastrian tradition (Pahlavi books), Avestan fravashi continues as Middle Persian fravard (and -w- forms, fraward etc), fravahr, fravash or fravaksh.

The last days of a year, called frawardigan, are dedicated to the fravashi s. We find such a zoroastrianization in the myth told in the third chapter of the Bundahishn (Book of primordial creation), which relates that the fravashi s chose to be incarnated in material bodies in order to fight Ahriman and the evil powers instead of remaining peacefully in the celestial world.

Originally the Fravashis were the same as the Pitris of the Hindus or the Manes of the Latins, that is to say, the everlasting and deified souls of the dead (see §§ ); but in course of time they gained a wider domain, and not only men, but gods and even physical objects, like the sky and the earth, etc., had each a Fravashi (see Ormazd.

Pre-Zoroastrian notions of the fravashis Fravashis book back in time to the Indo-Aryan period and, earlier, to a primitive moment when as spirits of the deceased they continued to exercise power over human affairs in life. Ancestor-worship and the cult of the dead have ever since played a major part in religious observances throughout human history.

FRAVAŠI (OP *fravarti, hotellewin.comd, frawahr, frōhar, frawaš, frawaxš), the Avestan word for a powerful supernatural being whose concept at an early stage in Zoroastrianism became blended with that Fravashis book the hotellewin.com urvan is the human soul, which in pre-Zoroastrian times was believed after death to pass a shadowy existence in the underworld, from where it returned once a year to its former.

Frawardin Yash (chapter 13) Onelittleangel > The Avesta > Frawardin Yash I invoke, I meditate upon, and we sacrifice unto the good, strong, beneficent Fravashis of the faithful. We worship the Fravashis of the masters of the houses, those of the lords of the boroughs, those of the lords of the towns, Book.

We worship the Ashavan, good, powerful, holy Fravashis, the material and the spiritual. We worship the most effective of masters, the most active of Yazatas, and the most worthy of the masters of Asha, who is best able to reach his goal of satisfaction, the Ashavan master of Asha.

In the later books of the Avesta (the Zoroastrian scriptures), the fravashis of the righteous are invoked as fierce and mighty warriors for the Good.

In a long prayer called the Farvardin Yasht, there are litanies praising and reverencing the fravashis of the early "saints" and heroes of Zoroastrian tradition.

Another popular interpretation is that it is a visual representation of a Fravashi, though Fravashis are described in Zoroastrian literature as being feminine.

One of the most prevalent views in academia as to the meaning of the faravahar is that it represents Khvarenah, the divine power and royal glory. Each of these 30 Fravashis is designated as a guardian of a particular day in each month. Thus 30 Fravashis are listed as names of 30 days in our Zoroastrian Calendar.

However, according to our scriptures, there are 33 Fravashis - 30 Roz and three additional Fravashis. This text describes the realities of modern Parsi religion through 30 interviews in which urban Parsis belonging to different social milieus and religious schools of thought discuss various aspects of their religious lives.

Zoroastrianism, the faith founded by the Iranian prophet Zarathustra, originated around BCE and is widely regarded as the world's first revealed religion. And of all these prior Fravashis, we worship here the Fravashi of Ahura Mazda, which is the greatest and the best, the most beautiful and the firmest, the most wise and the best in form, and the one that attains the most its ends because of Righteousness.
